Delay and Disruption

During the construction stage, there may be a number of disruptions and modifications to the construction schedule that could all have an influence on the construction work that must be performed. The impact of these disruptions on the construction schedule must be evaluated differently depending on the project, therefore they need to be viewed in detail in each case. After all, not every disruption represents an obstruction and not every obstruction increases the overall construction time.

Disruptions to the schedule may be caused by the client, for example by changing the work ordered or failing to cooperate, as well as by the contractor. Examples of this can include insufficient internal organisational structures or defective work.
